I was born in the Philippines, grew up in South Florida, and relocated to the Pacific Northwest as an adult. I attended the University of Washington and earned a BFA in Painting and Drawing in 2012. Given these dramatic shifts in geography, my work is a nomadic exploration of place in the form of grids, simplified landscapes, geometric interiors and other invented environments. The development of my work has been informed by the history and traditions belonging to painting, particularly the many ways in which we can achieve the illusion of space. I work at a small scale to convey gestures of intimacy and pliability.
